From the book, GRACE AND TRUTH by Octavius Winslow (19th Century England)
Is there anything this side of glory so lovely and precious as the grace of Jesus. He came to us as John tells us overflowing with grace. There is more of the Father, and more of heaven, and more of divine joy, unfolded and experienced in one drop of Jesus' grace than in ten thousand worlds like this.
When your soul was newly-quickened, you felt the gentle creek of grace and you "tasted that the Lord was gracious." Grateful for early refreshing but longing for more, you followed the creek to the stream and drank deeper. Not satisfied with this, but longing to explore the glorious and deep mysteries of Jesus' grace, you traced the stream to the broad river to joyfully commune more with the grace of Jesus. And you plunged, thinking you had at last found the source of Graces' eternal spring, forgetting that this river is but the introduction to an ocean, the bottomless, infinite ocean of the Heart of God pouring Love and Grace to His Son so He in all ways keeps overflowing in grace.
Such is the grace of Jesus: Divine, Infinite and inexhaustible in its supply. "Of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace."

O, Glorious Eternal Immutability
From the Chapter on God's Eternity in Discourses upon the Existence and Attributes of God by Stephen Charnock
“I am the Lord, I change not;” (Job 37:23)
If God were not eternal he could not be beautifully immutable. Whatever has a beginning is changed in its passing from not being to being. Had he not been eternal, there would have been the greatest change from nothing to something, as happens to all created things. God is a sun glittering always in the same glory; a Life without succession, standing in one point of eternity. If anything sprang up in the essence of God that was not there before, he could not be said to be either an eternal, or an unchanged being [[and His Glory would be diminished—Let us pause and adore His eternal immutability!]].

Finite Deliberations
From Stephen Charnock's Discourses on the Existence and Attributes of God – ON HIS WISDOM.
The rays of Divine wisdom are too bright for our human understandings. It is corrupt to set up finite reason against infinite wisdom; more corrupt to set up a depraved reason against an all-seeing and pure wisdom. All our censures of God’s revelations rise from some biased opinion or traditional convention that enthrone themselves in our minds. Corrupt, limited, biased human understanding arbitrates the Ordinances of God, then receives or rejects them. This greatly dishonors the Infinite Wisdom of God [[especially when practiced by His immature children]]. God's beautiful decrees silence the minds of men. We may sooner reach the sun or grasp a star than fully understand the deliberations of Eternity.
